Half day after the Philadelphia Eagles signed with disgraced quarterback Michael Vick, the New York Giants were practicing with the Wildcat offense, which they knew their rival team the Eagles would also use this season.
But Coach Tom Coughlin insisted that the two events were not related, and they used the trendy offense because they knew some opponents would use the Wildcat against them this season. It was not a special preparation for Eagles’ version of Wildcat, in which Vick would possibly play a role in his new eagles jersey.
As for the news that the Vick was signed by the Eagles, the Giants did not seem to be surprised. Actually some Giants players were happy to see Vick get a second chance to play in the NFL after he served 18 months of sentence in federal prison for conspiracy and running a dogfighting operation.
