Iverson may not be available for All-Star game with knee problem

Although getting the second most votes behind the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade for the East Conference starting guard, the Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson may not be available to play the All-Star game even if he eventually is chosen to the team. An arthritic left knee has caused him to hesitate on the decision.

The 34-year-old Iverson hobbled into the Sixers’ locker room after their loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. Saying that he had the knee drained again before the game and it continues to give him trouble, Iverson told reporters he has not entirely ruled out playing, but just wanting to be smart about decision.

But one thing is for sure—Iverson will not put on his 76ers jersey to play Saturday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons, a team was with last season but reduced him to a bench player and did not have him play much for the second half of the season.
