LB Porter plans to play out of Miami next season

As the 2009 season ended with the New Orleans Saints 31-17 Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts, linebacker Joey Porter also said his days of playing football in Miami Dolphins jerseys ended with a new plan to play elsewhere next season.

“Probably as a Dolphin, but not the last time you’ll see me in this stadium,” Porter said when asked about his future in Miami. “I still have a lot of years of football left … but strapping on that jersey, yes, this year is the last time.”

The 32-year-old Porter missed totally two games the past season because of injury but still managed to finish with nine sacks. The plan is partly because of Dolphins’ youth movement. Porters indicated that the young players the team brought in are not good enough to team with, saying “they just have to sit and wait their turn. Nobody is that good enough behind me to be stepping on my toes.”
