Rookie Webb returned to quarterback position for Vikings

As the Minnesota Vikings started their offseason OTAs, rookie Joe Webb was placed back to the position of quarterback, a role he played well during college football career. Originally, the Vikings planned to use Webb at wide receiver but they changed their mind after watching the rookie throwing some passes during rookie camp.

The former Alabama-Birmingham college football player was given the chance to play professional football in Vikings jersey in April as a sixth-round draft pick. He did not resist the idea of transforming from a quarterback to a receiver, and actually he already started to work on the transition after finishing his senior season. The Vikings scouts must see him playing at the receiver in the Senior Bowl before they advised the team to use Webb on pass-catching position. Even Webb’s college coach also consider him would have better NFL career as a wide receiver than a quarterback.

However, Webb was still happy to pass ball again. After all, he used to play at the position for quite a long time and had a brilliant record as quarterback. Throwing for more than 5,700 yards and 37 touchdowns in college means that he could also do well enough to be a leading role with the Vikings.
