Mark Sanchez attended the Jets in April as the fifth overall during draft time. Since then he has been working hard and learning a lot about NFL life.
As the Jets will end their last mandatory minicamp this week, and will start training camp next month, Sanchez has a lot of things to do during the off weeks.
“I’m going to go home (to California) for a little bit just to see the family and get all of my stuff out from there and move it here,” Sanchez told reporters Tuesday. “I’m still living in a hotel, so I have to figure out my living situation. That (the off weeks) will be a good time to go do that and take a little time off myself, just relax for about a week because it’s going to be a long season. It’s going to be a grind, especially for a rookie. I’m excited about it, and I’ll be ready to go come camp time.”
Sanchez also said that Kellen Clemens, who is competing with him for the Jets’ starting QB job, has been helping him a lot. Excitement and cooperation, the rookie is getting used to NFL life as a professional football player.
