Bills starting QB Edwards not to play against Panthers with concussion

On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will play against the Panthers at Carolina without starting quarterback Trent Edwards, who suffered a concussion after being knocked out early in the second quarter of the Bills' win over the New York Jets last Sunday.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will replace Edwards and start against the Panthers. The game will be the first game Edwards has missed in the season. Other starters who have been ruled out include starting safeties Donte Whitner and Bryan Scott and starting right tackle Jonathan Scott. All of the three starters wearing Bills jerseys suffered ankle injuries.

Other injured players who are probable to play Sunday’s game are defensive tackles, defensive end Chris Kelsay and cornerback Terrence McGee. Receiver Terrell Owens was not seen in Friday practice, but Coach Dick Jauron said his absence was not injury related, so T.O. is also probable for Sunday’s game.
