The Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson is expected to put on his Packers jersey and play for the team in Sunday’s playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals-at least it is Coach Mike McCarthy’s expectation.
Woodson is currently dealing with a shoulder strain and McCarthy said his practice schedule will remain similar to recent weeks, a schedule that will give some rest to Woodson, who has been playing with a sore shoulder for at least a month and had to leave the game just before halftime of Sunday’s 33-7 victory over the Cardinals.
Woodson has been the Packers’ best and most versatile player on defense this season. Despite the shoulder strain, he just made last Sunday’s game the same good as he usually did, intercepting a pass from Matt Leinart and running back 45 yards for a touchdown. It seems that McCarthy’s strategy of playing to win despite injuries just works although it from times to times caused fans to worry about injuries of key players.
