Bills Top Receiver Owens plans to play Sunday against Titans

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens’ hip injury turned to be a false alarm as he returned to practice Friday wearing his Bills jersey and said he was fine enough to play Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

Owens told reporters that his injury was caused by sleeping on his couch Monday night after practice. Waking up with feeling stiff, he had to skip practices Wednesday and Thursday, causing many to doubt whether he would be able to play this week.

“Earlier in the week it was painful, but I knew I would be ready,” said Owens, who is officially listed as questionable. “My couch is very comfortable, so it’s easy to fall asleep on. (But) I don’t know if it was the couch.”

Fortunately the pain did not last long and he practiced Friday in time to prepare to Sunday’s game at Tennessee. But some other starters were not as lucky. Starting linebacker Keith Ellison, cornerback Terrence McGee and defensive tackle Kyle Williams all have been ruled out for Sunday’s game with injuries.
